How To Use This Website

This site is a resource for all CIRS users. The topics cover a range of subjects related to using the compendium and writing ad hoc reports. New topics are added to the CIRS website at the beginning of each month and are based on calls to the CIRS Hotline, user suggestions, and staff comments. The topics are cross-referenced in the Table of Contents for ease of use and are retained until they are incorporated into the CIRS User Manual and Data Element Dictionary, or until they are no longer relevant.

Here are some tips and hints for using this site:

  • The navigation pane can be hidden or viewed by clicking on the 'Hide/Show Navigation Pane' text in the upper right corner of the window.

  • The navigation pane provides a hierarchical map (Table Of Contents) of major topics and allows fast and easy navigation - just click on any topic to view.

  • The navigation pane can be re-sized by clicking and dragging the bar that separates it from the topic content.

  • Topics can also be located by using the Search tab on the navigation pane.  Just click on the tab, type a word or words, and press enter to find all topics that contain your search string.
