About HR Data Operations

​The Human Resources - Data Operations unit of the California State University (CSU) Chancellor's Office is part of Systemwide Human Resources Management. This team is located in Sacramento, California. Data Operations play a critical role in managing and maintaining human resource data-related activities within the CSU system. 

We developed and maintain the Campus Information Retrieval System (CIRS) which is the systemwide data warehouse for Human Resource information. We have monthly productio​n of reports and files for the CIRS Compendium, and outside agencies. Data Operations provides support for CIRS users at all CSU campuses, the Chancellor's Office, and the State Controller's Office. In conjunction with Human Resources Management, we maintain the PIMS Manual and are the owners of the​Pay Scales file. 

In addition, CIRS HR-Data Operations serves as a liaison to the Personnel Payroll Services Division of the State Controller's Office on its personnel and payroll systems.
