Compendium Search Function

One of the best features in the compendium is the search function (F9 key).  This search function is available on the main compendium screen and allows you to search reports for a particular word, multiple words, or a phrase.

Here are some tips for using the search function:

  • When the F9 key is pressed, a menu prompts you to enter a search string. You can type from 1 to 4 words or phrases, or a combination of words and phrases.

  • Phrases must be enclosed in single quotes.

  • The maximum length of the search string is 60 characters.

  • When more than one word or phrase is supplied, the system searches for reports containing all or some of the keywords and/or phrases.  Reports with the greatest number of hits will display at the top of the results list in code order.

  • If the search string consists of only a single word then all reports will have only 1 'hit'.

  • To perform another search within the reports displayed, press the F9 key and type another search string.   If you receive the message 'no reports found' after performing a search within results, pressing the F3 key will return you to the first successful search.
