User Tips

These pages are viewed best with a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels using the latest version of Explorer or Netscape browsers on Windows 95 or greater, Macintosh and UNIX platforms.  

There are several options for navigating through this document:

Contents Tab

The Contents tab in the navigation pane provides a hierarchical outline of major sections (identified by a book icon) of the manual. To view the topics within a section, click on the section name. To close a section, click again on the name. To view a particular topic (identified by a page icon) within a section, click on the topic name to open the page.

Scrolling

The < or > characters in the top right corner of each page can be used to go forward (>) or backward (<) through the entire document, one topic at a time. When the navigation pane is open, the page you are on is shaded in the navigation pane to help you identify where are you in the document.

Search Tab

The Search tab in the navigation pane provides a full-text search and can be used to identify topics that contain a particular word or phrase. To use this, click on the search tab, type in the word(s) you are looking for and press ENTER. A list of topics containing the word(s) will display in the navigation pane. To view a topic in the list, click on the name. To locate the word(s) within a topic, click anywhere on topic page and then use your browser’s FIND function to search the page.

This document also contains internal jumps for data elements and transactions in this manual as well links to the technical letters located on the Systemwide Human Resources website. If you follow links to different topics, use your browser’s BACK button to return to the place you started. Likewise, if you jump to sections within a topic, use your browser’s BACK button to return to the top of the page.
