A three character code that may identify the individual position within the class and reporting unit. The serial number is the last set of digits contained within the position number.
The serial number may represent a regular position or a blanket position. Serialized positions are restricted to numbers 001 through 899. Blanket positions are identified by numbers in the 900 series and each blanket number is restricted to a particular type of expenditure or appointment.
