(PPT Line G Item)
This item identifies the based-on salary (e.g., monthly, hourly) rate for employees in classifications having a minimum and maximum salary range but no designated salary steps within the salary range. Refer to the CSU Salary Schedule for specific class code structures.
On Line G enter: 820 / XXXXX.XX where the salary reflects one of the following:
Monthly rate = Based on salary regardless of time base and not on an hourly rate.
Hourly rate = Salaries that are based on hourly rates.
9320-01 ASSIGNED SALARY REQUIRED. NO STEPS FOR CLASS.
Item 820 is required on all appointments except A54, if class code is 1869 or payscale indicates a min/max rate.
9320-02 ASSIGNED SALARY INVALID PER CSU PAYSCALES.
If entered, assigned salary rate must be greater than the minimum rate or less than the maximum for the class. Note: This message will be received when processing out-of-sequence transaction before the GEN transaction with the same effective date. Attach or write the message on the PPT and send to CSU Audits for processing.
9320-03 ASSIGNED SALARY NOT PERMITTED.
If class code is a step class, Item 820 must not be present or entered.
When an employee changes from an 'assigned salary rate' class to a step class, Item 820 must be deleted. On Line G, enter Code 820 and an asterisk (*).
