Item 560 - Professional License Type/Expiration Date

Identifies the type and expiration date of a license, credential or other certification that an employee must possess in order to meet minimum job qualifications and/or qualify for continued employment in a particular class.  Also used to identify license requirements when the employee is appointed to or occupies one of the Management Personnel Plan classes.

 

Coding:

License Type:  X

1 = California Department of Motor Vehicles

2 = California Department of Consumer Affairs

3 = California State Department of Education

4 = Other department or licensing authority

License Expiration Date: MM/DD/YY

Note: If the employee possesses a "life" credential issued by the Department of Education, type LIFE in the first four positions of the License Expiration Date field.

561-01 LICENSE TYPE FOR CLASS DOES NOT MATCH PAYSCALE.

If Item 560 is present, it must match the license type in the payscale. Note: MPP’s are excluded from this audit.

562-01 BOTH LICENSE TYPE AND EXP. DATE MUST BE ENTERED.

If license expiration date is present, license type must also be present.

562-02 BOTH LICENSE TYPE AND EXP. DATE MUST BE ENTERED.

If license type is present, license expiration date must also be present.

Instructions:

  1. The campus personnel office must have on file a waiver, issued by the Chancellor’s Office, Human Resources for any employee who occupies a class but who does not possess the required license, credential, or other certification.

  2. When processing a Transaction 560 to indicate that the employee’s license has been renewed, the effective date should be the next calendar date following that shown in Item 560.

  3. To delete an entry, asterisk (*) each item.

  4. Do not enter a license type for per diem classifications (i.e., 7930).  These classes do not have a license type entered on the CSU Salary Schedule, because they may require more than one professional license.
