COAST Members 


COAST members represent the marine, coastal and coastal watershed related expertise and interests of the CSU. They come from diverse disciplines, including:

  • Anthropology
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Economics
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science
  • Geography
  • Geology
  • Mathematics
  • Oceanography
  • Public Health

Their interests include, but are not limited to, cross-cutting topics such as the impact of global climate change, sustainable resource management strategies, and the use of new and emerging technologies.

Become a COAST Member


COAST membership is open to anyone in the CSU with an interest in the ocean, coasts or coastal watersheds. To join COAST, simply subscribe to our email list and maintain a current profile in our database.


COAST member benefits include:

  • The ability to apply for COAST funding. CSU faculty members: You must join COAST in order to apply for funding yourself or to enable your students to apply.
  • Announcements about COAST events, funding opportunities and other highly relevant information.
  • The chance to connect with potential collaborators across the CSU.
  • The chance to stand for election to the COAST Executive Committee.
  • The opportunity to participate in a dynamic organization working to advance marine and coastal science and the CSU.
