CSU Summer Arts welcomes course proposals from any California State University faculty member including lecturers, assistant professors, associate professors, or professors. Faculty are responsible for developing a curriculum and syllabus, securing guest artists, and recruiting and supporting students for the course.

Course Proposals

Serving as a course coordinator for Summer Arts allows you to design a creative curriculum, experiment with artforms and modalities, and invite guest artists to participate in ways that might not be possible on your home campus.

Guest Artists

The opportunity for CSU Summer Arts students to work with professional artists is a hallmark of the program. We’ve hosted notable artists across many genres such as Roxane Gay, Laurie Metcalf, the Kronos Quartet, Bruce Logan, Terence Blanchard, Paul Gemignani, Juan Felipe Herrera, and many more. Guest artists are invited to participate in courses by the CSU faculty member coordinating each course. If you would like to participate in Summer Arts, you will need to connect with a CSU faculty member who might be interested in working with you.
