Collaboration and Devised Theatre

course dates: july 20 to august 2, 2021

APPLICATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED!

Use contemporary techniques—including Viewpoints and Cornerstone Theatre methods—to collaborate, strengthen your skills as an ensemble and create powerful devised theatre.

  • Train with two of L.A.’s most accomplished theatre directors on the core skills of collaboration, ensemble-building and devising.
  • Learn how to become a “total theatre artist”—one who is able to weave together the various elements of theatre (acting, directing, designing and writing) to create dynamic and theatrical work.
  • Train each day in exercises and methods drawn from Viewpoints and the work of Cornerstone Theatre in L.A.
  • Each day, craft and create short devised performance pieces: to practice the art of group-generated work, to sharpen your theatre-making skills and to learn how to work quickly, efficiently and imaginatively in response to a range of prompts and projects.
  • Perform in a public student showcase.
