REENGAGE AND REENROLL UNDERSERVED STUDENTS

Targeted systemwide and campus reenrollment campaigns have begun for spring, summer and fall 2022 terms. These efforts will continue over the nex​t three years with the goal to identify and implement effective outreach to students who have left the CSU before earning a degree. Specific focus is placed on students of color, Pell grant​ recipients and first-generation students. Each CSU campus is charged to leverage all available resources and strategies including leading change management initiatives and re-imagining reenrollment processes and academic policy and addressing administrative barriers.

Reengagement efforts include:

  • Growing cultures of care for returning students
  • Expanding student support services, including advising, tutoring and mental health services
  • Enhancing communications and fostering stronger student ties

Reenrollment efforts include:

  • Innovating the re-application process
  • Reducing administrative barriers to graduation
  • Re-imagining reenrollment policies including focused degree planning, development of cohort models and increased availability of core courses
