It is the CSU’s policy to provide equal opportunity for every person regardless of the person’s protected status. Protected statuses include age, disability, gender, genetic information, gender identity or expression, nationality, marital status, race or ethnicity (including color, caste or ancestry), religion, sexual orientation, and veteran or military status.

CSU Systemwide policy prohibits discrimination, harassment and retaliation, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating and domestic violence, and stalking against students, employees, and third parties. The policy also includes the procedures for addressing complaints made against students and complaints made against employees and third parties.

Within this policy there are two sets of procedures for handling formal complaints that fall within the scope of the Nondiscrimination Policy.

The above Nondiscrimination Policy and Procedures apply to reports and complaints of alleged misconduct that occurred on or after August 1, 2024.

The applicable procedures for reports and complaints involving alleged misconduct that occurred prior to August 1, 2014, are found within the CSU Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Exploitation, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking, and Retaliation - January 1, 2023.
