Linked Learning

With support from the James Irvine Foundation, the CSU is leading the state in preparing teachers skilled in Linked Learning, a teaching approach that blends academics with career-technical education and workplace internships.

Research shows that Linked Learning contributes to academic achievement and improved attendance and graduation rates in both high school and college and better career and life skills. Students participate in cross-disciplinary projects, and many graduate from high school with college credits and recognized industrial certifications.

The CSU prepares teachers, counselors and administrators for roles in reformed high schools that feature Linked Learning. In addition, the system has advanced knowledge in Linked Learning through research undertaken by CSU doctoral candidates in educational leadership on campuses across the state.
