Tina L. O’Brien was abandoned as an infant by her teenage mother. Her grandmother took her in but was tragically killed when Tina was 13. Tina was embraced into a loving family at 15 and began to thrive in high school. She took an active role in many clubs and organizations and graduated with honors.

Tina began working full time at the age of 16 and advanced her way up to managerial positions. She is now determined to complete her education and set an example for her three children. Tina attained four associate degrees at San Bernardino Valley College. She is currently a senior at CSU San Bernardino majoring in environmental studies and geography with a 4.00 GPA. She is also earning a certificate in urban planning. A strong advocate for public education, Tina has served on the state board of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and continues her leadership in the Fifth District PTA of San Bernardino County.

After graduation, Tina plans to enter the teaching credential program as well as earning her master’s and doctoral degrees.
