Financial Aid

CSU tuition and fees are among the lowest in the nation—roughly 37% below the national average for public four‑year universities. Nearly all CSU students qualify for financial aid, with $5.5 billion awarded in 2024‑25 and an average award of more than $14,000. More than half of students pay no tuition at all thanks to non‑loan aid, and most graduate debt‑free: Roughly 65% of bachelor’s degree recipients finish with zero student loan debt, and those who borrow take on far less than the national average.

Presidential Scholars programs, which provide full scholarships to National Merit scholars and high school valedictorians, are also available at many CSU campuses.
