Dance Muse Job Posting


​Dance Muse is looking for brilliant visual and audio storytellers with outgoing on-camera personalities to host engaging interviews with dancers and dance industry experts for video and podcast projects. The projects will be focused in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Nashville beginning in July 2020.


Dance Muse is a new entertainment and educational non-profit dedicated to inspiring growth, self-care, and acceptance in dance an​​d performing arts through live and on-demand videos and podcasts.

We’re looking for individuals with communications, journalism, or broadcast experience and an understanding of the greater dance and performing arts industry. Students and dancers with applicable experience are encouraged to apply.


The opportunity includes part-time, ​project-based work to host live interviews, narration of dance performances, and marketing reels. This paid volunteer role offers a $50 stipend per project, with opportunity to grow into a long-term, paid position. Projects will provide an excellent opportunity to build high-level portfolio pieces.​

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce and host engaging, live interviews and story content for a variety of media output including websites, social media, podcasts, and live streaming events.

• Ideate with team to create initiatives, questions, and outcomes for content.

• Independently conduct on-camera interviews with ability to take basic video and photography as needed.

• Create and post content to Dance Muse social media accounts to reflect voice and mission of the organization.

• Ability to work with videographer to visualize, plan, and execute filming location and atmosphere for engaging storytelling, with ability to think outside the box.​


Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have relevant, prior on-camera communications or journalism experience, with the ability to conduct engaging interviews. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, independent planning and management abilities, and ability to manage multiple projects under deadline are required. Candidates should have knowledge of all social media platforms and familiarity with video and podcast platforms. Must have an understanding of, and be well versed in the greater dance and performing arts industry.

Experience in broadcast communications, live event production, working with a creative team to plan and execute creative assets, and working across multiple digital media platforms.​
