My goal is to use my education to benefit the scientific community.

Chiefe Mo is a master’s degree student in biological sciences at Cal Poly Pomona, where he studies the neuroimmunological responses of the central nervous system against West Nile Virus. He has received numerous honors, including the Dr. Edward T. Roche Research Assistant Award Scholarship for superior academic performance, the Larry McKane Outstanding Teaching Associate Award and the Leverage Opportunities for Graduate Research and Resources/Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans Grant for low-income graduate students.

​After completing his master’s degree, Chiefe plans to apply to a Ph.D. program with a career goal to aid in the research and development of treatments and vaccines against infectious diseases.
