I have a great passion for learning and an even bigger passion for teaching.

A veteran of the United States Army, Sahmae Jackson has faced many challenges since her transition from military to civilian life. She has used her experiences and education to launch a peer-to-peer veterans PTSD support group for the city of San Bernardino and surrounding communities.

Sahmae is in the Career and Technical Education master’s program at Cal State San Bernardino. She volunteers at her church, the Children’s Cancer Foundation of Loma Linda and as a fitness instructor.

A single mother of a child with disabilities, Sahmae has managed to juggle hospital appointments, her school schedule, volunteerism and helping her children with schoolwork. She plans to become a teacher and, eventually, a university professor teaching business management.
