Volunteering is a wonderful gateway to help give back to the community.

As a young immigrant from Vietnam, Amy Tram Vu decided to postpone her education and work full-time to help her family through financial hardships. But her parents’ sacrifice motivated her to invest in education for a better future. Amy enrolled at Santa Ana College, where she maintained excellent grades, and is now a senior at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in accounting and information systems.

Her interest in helping people led her to participate in a variety of volunteer activities while maintaining a 3.99 GPA. Amy served as an IRS quality reviewer and assistant site coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program during the 2017 and 2018 tax seasons. In 2017, she was honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her commitment to community service.

Amy aspires to be a certified public accountant and earn a doctorate in accounting and information systems, with hopes of inspiring future students to achieve greatness.
