Other Benefits

A number of benefits you enjoyed as an employee are available to you as a retiree. To continue some of these benefits, you must have been enrolled as an active employee. Other CSU sponsored benefits are available to all retirees. See below for details.

You may be enrolled in this coverage after employment for as long as the CSU continues to offer insurance from the same provider you purchased insurance with as an active employee. To continue your insurance under this provision, you must apply in writing and pay your first premium within 60 days of separating from the CSU. The cost to you will be the same as if you were an active employee.

Conversion: If you separate from the CSU for any reason, you may elect to convert your voluntary life insurance to an individual policy based on age and amount of coverage. No evidence of insurability is required if the application is mailed within 60 days of separating from the CSU. The cost to you is based on published rates for standard risks, which could be different than the rates you paid as an active employee for the same coverage.
