Nancy L. Sasaki has a strong track record of working with diverse communities and building sustainable solutions through collaboration and strategic partnerships. In her 35-year career, she has worked with, and helped lead, several organizations including Alliance Healthcare Foundation, Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Today, Ms. Sasaki continues to demonstrate her passion for community improvement and helping those in need as the president and CEO of United Way of San Diego County. In this work, she helps spark transformational community action that elevates every child and family toward a brighter future. She is a proven changemaker focused on the immense and complex social challenges within the San Diego region and works to support children, young adults and families experiencing inequities.

Ms. Sasaki is the former chair of the Funders Together to End Homelessness-San Diego and currently serves on the Regional Continuum of Care Council's governance board and the boards of the San Diego Grantmakers and San Diego Impact Investors. In these leadership roles, she provides a perspective to enhance the collaboration of organizations serving the largely diverse populations in this region.

In recognition of her career helping the San Diego and Imperial Counties communities thrive, the Board of Trustees of the California State University and California State University San Marcos are proud to confer upon Nancy L. Sasaki the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
