Jeffrey T. Green is an entrepreneur philanthropist and digital advertising and marketing expert who serves as the founding chief executive officer and chairman of The Trade Desk. Founded in 2009 in Ventura, California, The Trade Desk is a global technology company that provides digital advertisers data-driven digital advertising campaigns across various advertising channels.

Mr. Green began his career in the digital advertising industry as a technical account manager for MSN. Prior to founding The Trade Desk, Mr. Green founded the world’s first online advertising exchange, AdECN. He served as chief operating officer of the company until it was acquired by Microsoft in 2007, after which he spent two years leading the Microsoft Online Services Division. Mr. Green continues to play a leadership role in the digital advertising industry, leading working groups that establish rules and best practices for acquiring inventory and setting data transaction standards. For his pioneering work in digital advertising, Mr. Green has been recognized by Forbes, the American Marketing Association and Ernst & Young, and he has appeared on various national media outlets to share his expertise.

Mr. Green also champions greater access to higher education and, through The Trade Desk and the Jeff Green Family Foundation, he has engaged in a strong partnership with California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI).. He has contributed major gifts in the areas of student retention and student success initiatives, supporting these initiatives through scholarships and funding to strengthen peer mentorship programs. He aspires to help position CSUCI as a national model for data-driven philanthropy

In recognition for his time, talent and expertise which have made valuable impacts on the success of CSUCI students, and of the entire CSUCI community, the Board of Trustees of the California State University and California State University Channel Islands are proud to confer upon Jeffrey T. Green the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
