Allison Evans, Ph.D.

Allison Evans, Ph.D., psychology lecturer at CSU Bakersfield, is recognized for her exceptional work in maintaining a standard of excellence in online education through faculty development and course redesign.

Dr. Evans' efforts in faculty professional development is driven by her commitment​ to providing the best instruction for students. As an active member of the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center​​ at CSUB, Evans trains faculty through numerous programs, including the Summer Institute for Online Teaching and the Advance Summer Institute.

Her work on campus caught the attention of the Academic Technology Services department at the CSU Chancellor's Office, leading to an opportunity for her to train online faculty in Quality Matters across the CSU. Evans is a model for university faculty, presenting at the CSU Symposium on Teaching and Learning and publishing a paper on online course design for the National Social Sciences Association.​

This year, Evans facilitated the Heroic Ambassadors Program at CSUB with support from the Chancellor's Office. The pilot program trains faculty and staff on the topics of growth mindset, academic intervention and bias reduction to improve student success. The program uses a train-the-trainer model to build a sustainable commitment to academic achievement and personal growth.

Evans has won multiple awards for online education, including the CSU Quality Assurance of Online Teaching Award for her course development, and the Quality Matters Hall of Fame for her quality reviews of others' courses.
