Knowing there is someone in a professional capacity who is on their side and has traveled the same journey brings about incredible transformation in families and their children with autism.

​Dr. Ivor Weiner received his Ph.D. in Special Education from Texas Woman’s University and is a Professor in the Department of Special Education. Dr. Weiner is also the Principal Investigator for CSUN’s Family Focus Resource Center, which supports families who have children with disabilities. His scholarship focuses on autism especially access barriers faced by Latina mothers with children who have autism.  Since 2007, Dr. Weiner has received over $6 million in grant and contract funding. He has published 14 articles and presented at 120 conferences, including in China and South Africa. Dr. Weiner received the 2018 Wang Family Excellence Award for Outstanding Faculty Service, which is the highest honor in the entire university system.
