The Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program (CDIP)

The goal of the California State University Chancellor's Doctoral Incentive Program (CDIP) is to increase the number of faculty with the qualifications, motivation, and skills needed to teach the diverse students of the CSU.

CDIP prepares promising doctoral students for CSU faculty positions by providing financial support, mentorship by CSU faculty and professional development and grant resources. It is the largest program of its kind in the U.S.

Interested candidates should work directly with a CSU Campus Coordinator .​

The 2019-20 application period is now closed and the 2019-20 CDIP cohort has been selected. The application portal will re-open in October 2019.​​

​​A​​​​pplication Review Timeline:

  • CDIP Systemwide Selection Committee will review campus nominations in early May 2022.
  • Announcements of 22/23 CIDP Cohort will be made end of June. Fellows will receive communication via email and a list of selected fellows will be posted on the CDIP Website.​

Directory of Recipients

CDIP Fellows who have graduated or who are about to graduate should submit their information to be included in the annual CDIP Directory. The directory is intended to assist CSU campuses in recruiting candidates who would further their goals of creating a faculty with the ability and motivation to educate a diverse student body.
