Daniel Mandel

Daniel Mandel joined the California State University's Office of General Counsel in November 2021.  Danny is the University Counsel for Real Estate & Land Use and a member of the Office of General Counsel's Business and Finance Team.  He serves as a resources attorney for California Environmental Quality Act, land records, public private partnership, real estate and land use legal advice to the 23 CSU campuses.  He also supports major campus development projects, including SDSU Mission Valley and other public-private partnerships.

Before joining the CSU, Danny was an associate at Armbruster Goldsmith & Delvac LLP, a land use specialty law firm in Los Angeles, and at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Palo Alto and San Francisco, where he practiced in the firm's Real Estate and Corporate Departments.   Prior to joining CSU, Danny represented property owners, developers, investors, educational and cultural institutions, and municipalities in a range of land use and real estate matters.  Danny also previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for a real estate development firm.  He is admitted to practice law in California.
