Brian Walther joined the Office of General Counsel in November 2023. He is part of the Business and Finance team, specializing in transactional matters and advice for the Chancellor's Office and all 23 universities. He serves as a resource attorney on matters relating to contracts and procurement, research and sponsored programs, and auxiliary organizations. Previously Brian served as University Counsel, the chief legal officer, for George Mason University. Brian served Mason, Virginia’s largest public university, for over 20 years, advising the Board of Visitors and senior leadership on issues of governance, ethics, employment, real estate, and complex business transactions. He is a member of the California and Virginia bars.
