Brian Villarreal joined the California State University Office of General Counsel in February 2017 as a member of the Litigation team. He also serves as a resource attorney on Athletics, subpoenas and unlawful detainers. Prior to joining the CSU, Brian was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Fraud Section of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, where he handled a variety of matters under the False Claims Act. Brian also worked in private practice, specializing in business litigation, including consumer fraud class actions, labor and employment disputes, business torts, and contract and real estate disputes. After law school, Brian served as a law clerk to Judge Manuel L. Real of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
