The Strategic Communications and Brand Marketing team champions the California State University’s character, brand, reputation and community through innovative, dynamic and comprehensive marketing and communications strategies. The office creates consistent and impactful messaging to both internal and external audiences and provides leadership and support to communications and marketing departments across the CSU system.
The Media Relations & Public Affairs team communicates the value and mission of the California State University across numerous and diverse audiences and constituencies in order to build understanding, trust and support. This team manages the CSU NewsCenter as well as the CSU’s systemwide social media channels to engage stakeholders from a variety of audiences.

The Marketing Communications team manages marketing activities that define, promote, enhance, leverage and protect the reputation of the CSU, and aims to increase awareness of the value and importance of the CSU to key intended audiences. The team provides strategic direction to develop marketing materials while working to ensure consistent brand and messaging alignment. The department comprises Marketing, Digital, Creative, Production and Print Services.

The Integrated Internal Communications team tells the story of the CSU through feature stories, pride points and current information that is integrated into messaging to the university community. The team consists of writers and editors who produce stories and share information through the CSU Leader and CO In the Know newsletters, while also collaborating with subject matter experts across the Chancellor’s Office in developing, implementing and assessing content strategy and coverage of CSU priorities, advocacy efforts and trending topics.
