Gregory Fischbach is founder and executive chairman of Rabbit, Inc., the social media app that brings the living room online, allowing people to watch television, movies and media together from anywhere in the world while video and text chatting, all one screen.
Gregory Fischbach received his B.S. degree in Economics from SF State in 1963 and earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings in 1966. Today, he credits the SFSU with two of the most significant influences in his life: the first was the skillset he developed to get into Hastings School of Law and the second is his wife, Linda, whom he met in a biology class.
Following an experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Santiago, Chile, he began work as a trial attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice and subsequently served as assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California.
At age 32, Gregory Fischbach founded his own law firm, which met with success almost instantly thanks to the explosive growth of the music industry in the 1970s. The firm’s clients included a “who’s who” of the music business: Crosby Stills and Nash, The Steve Miller Band, Emmylou Harris, Boz Scaggs, Thin Lizzy and Merle Haggard as well as Richard Branson’s Virgin Records and Chrysalis Records, among others.
After nine successful years in private practice, Gregory Fischbach embarked on a new career as a media executive before starting what would become a powerhouse of the video game industry – Acclaim Entertainment. In its first year, Acclaim became the first U.S. licensee for video game giant Nintendo and earned $39 million in revenue. In time, Acclaim employed 1,500 people and developed, produced, and marketed some of the biggest hits of the video game industry, including Mortal Kombat, Turok, NBA Jam, and All Star Baseball.
Apart from his numerous professional accomplishments, Mr. Fischbach is also a licensed pilot and an avid sports fan.
