In 1985, founded The Sleep Train Inc., which is now an employee-owned company that is ranked the No. 1 mattress retailer on the West Coast. Operates over 230 stores on the West Coast, 152 of which are in California spanning from Redding to San Diego.
Built his success on his father's advice, "Surround yourself with good people, treat them right and make everybody successful." In fact, 75 percent of the people on his leadership team are Sacramento State graduates.
The company is the 4th largest bedding specialist in the nation, with sales estimated at nearly $315 million in 2010.
Created the Sleep Train's Foster Kids program along with his wife, Katy, to raise public awareness and help provide for local foster children's needs.
Named 2005 Sacramento Metro Chamber Businessman of the Year.
