Kerri Ruppert Schiller has been associated with Children’s HealthCare of California since 1998. Schiller currently oversees the financial, investment and real estate activities of CHC and its Affiliates; contracting; information systems; revenue cycle, insurance reciprocal and management oversight of Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s (CHOC) health plan with 150,000 capitated lives.
Has been intricately involved with the Master Plan for CHOC - encompassing multiple construction projects designed to ensure CHOC can meet the future needs of the community. CHOC issued $84.3 million in tax exempt revenue bonds in 2004 and an additional $267.4 million in 2009 for CHOC's new patient tower which opened in Spring 2013.
Prior to joining CHOC, Schiller was with Comprehensive Care Corporation, a national for profit corporation (NYSE) engaged in the ownership, operation and management of free-standing hospital facilities and the management of in-hospital programs as well as HMO activities in multiple states. She held a series of progressively responsible corporate positions from 1988 to 1997, with her last position serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Schiller served on the Board of Directors of both the National Association of Children’s Hospitals (NACH) and National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI). She is a member Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). She is a current Board member and past Chair of the California State University Fullerton (CSUF) Philanthropic Foundation and Chair of its Audit Committee and served as the Chair of the CSUF Nursing Initiative.
In 2007, Ms. Schiller was named a CFO of the Year by the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Orange County/Long Beach Chapter and named Outstanding CFO of a Non-Profit Organization by the Orange County Business Journal and CalCPA in 2010. She was recognized as a Women of Distinction and in 2011, was awarded a CSUF Vision & Visionaries Distinguished Alumni Award.
