The commissioners are particularly proud of the self-funded innovation grants program, which has helped launch some of the system’s most innovative and successful programs such as the professional science master’s degree and the workforce academy apprenticeship. Grant awards for cybersecurity, non-profit management, hospitality and tourism, clinical counseling and farmer experiential education demonstrate the variety of innovative ideas and approaches to address regional and statewide workforce needs.
