(December 1, 2008) – Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the following appointments:

Henry Mendoza, 49, of San Clemente, has been appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees.

Since 1997, Mendoza has served as managing partner of Mendoza Berger & Company. He previously served as a partner for Strabala, Ramirez & Associates from 1995 to 1997 and was a senior audit manager for Haskell & White from 1986 to 1995.  Mendoza served as a senior accountant for Gilbert Vasquez & Company from 1981 to 1986. 

He is the immediate past chairman of the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

This position does not require Senate confirmation and the salary is $100 per diem. Mendoza is a Democrat.

Russel Statham, 21, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees. He currently studies business administration at California State University, Fresno. Statham served Associated Students, Incorporated as vice president of finance and chief financial officer from 2006 to 2008, senator and chief of staff to the president in 2006. He also served as chair of university affairs and as a member of both the executive committee and Board of Directors for the California State Student Association (CSSA) from 2007 to 2008. Statham is a Democrat.
