Chavez leads TelevisaUnivision’s West Coast region, overseeing local content and operations across television, radio, digital, and social platforms. He manages content, marketing, community engagement and financial operations of the region, bringing a deep expertise in digital strategy and a proven track record in building and scaling startups.

He rejoined Univision after co-founding and leading CABRA Sports, a U.S. Latino youth sports fandom platform. Prior to that, Chavez served as CEO of Vertical Networks, a mobile-first content studio and joint venture between Snap Inc. and Liz Murdoch, where he expanded monetization and content production across platforms, culminating in the company's sale. He was also COO of mitú, where he shaped strategy and profitability, led audience development, expanded branded partnerships, and spearheaded fundraising efforts.

Chavez previously spent over eight years in various executive roles at Univision, including corporate strategy and leading affiliate relations for the Radio Group, licensing programming both domestically and internationally. As General Manager, he oversaw multiple stations and drove the expansion of Univision’s digital operations for the Local Media Group, which included all digital properties across 72 stations in 22 markets.

Chavez began his career in consulting at Accenture within their technology group, focusing on systems integration and front-end development across industries including tech, finance, energy, and manufacturing.

​ He holds an M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Chavez chairs the Digital & Innovation Advisory Council for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is a former board member of Girl Rising.
