Donna Uchida is the Chief of Communications for Health Plan/Hospital Operations Communications as part of Kaiser Permanente's Brand Strategy, Communications & Public Relations group.
Ms. Uchida is a communications executive with more than 20 years of corporate, agency, association and consulting experience, she has built and led executive and internal communications for global companies with employees in more than 40 countries. She has protected corporate reputation during crisis situations through national and international global media strategy and response.
Her specialties include change leadership, executive communications, employee engagement, leadership alignment, global M&A, issues and crisis management, risk communications, intranet strategy, internal branding, channel strategy, media relations and financial communications.
Before joining Kaiser, Ms. Uchida provided on-site communications counsel at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where she supported CEO and leadership communications. Other past positions include vice president of communications for CropLife America, Washington, D.C.; global head of communications for Arysta LifeScience, Tokyo; senior director of internal communications for Gap Inc., San Francisco; senior director of internal communications, Oracle Corporation; and vice president of corporate communications, Wells Fargo & Company, San Francisco.
Ms. Uchida has a bachelor of arts in political science and mass communications as well as a master of arts in mass communications from the University of Denver. She earned her PhD in sociology (risk communication) from Colorado State University.
