Setting an example for my children is at the heart of what pushes me forward.

Chamese Dempsey began the San Diego State’s Master of Social Work Advanced Standing Program this summer. Completing her bachelor’s degree this past May from SDSU’s undergraduate social work program, Chamese was part of three honor societies, contributed countless volunteer hours with underserved populations and interned at a residential treatment center. She also earned associate degrees in psychology and social work and completed the mental health work certificate with highest honors at San Diego City College.

After completing her master’s degree, Chamese plans to obtain her licensure as a clinical social worker and earn her doctorate, as well as addiction counseling credentials.
