Dr. Zvi Drezner
Dr. Zvi Drezner is professor of information systems and decision sciences at California State University, Fullerton, where he joined the faculty in 1985. Previously, he was a faculty member at the University of Michigan and the University of Central Michigan. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science from The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Dr. Drezner is considered one of the world's leading and most active researchers and scientists in his field of location theory and analysis. It is a subfield of operations research that uses mathematical modeling to analyze complex situations and provide business and government executives with better insights to make decisions. Dr. Drezner's body of work provides the methods to determine which airline hub combinations are optimal for individual and merged airlines. His methods and models support optimization of facility locations, essential both to efficient shipping and to competitive supply chains.
His teaching includes undergraduate statistics and management and graduate level statistics and business modeling. As an inspirational instructor who energizes and engages students by using real-life situations, he has a reputation for breaking down complex content into smaller, understandable pieces. Student evaluations of his classes consistently are among the highest in the department. During summers, Dr. Drezner has taught as a visiting professor at institutions such as McMaster University in Canada and the University of Auckland in New Zealand.
Dr. Drezner edited two books and authored/co-authored 226 articles in top refereed journals. Peers around the globe praise his contributions.
