The following statement can be attributed to CSU Chancellor Mildred García:

"The California State University (CSU) is grateful for the continued support of Governor Newsom and the state legislature, particularly during a challenging fiscal year paired with growing economic uncertainty. The final state budget, which defers payment to the CSU in 2025-2026 and reduces funding by $144 million or 3%, is a welcome improvement over earlier proposals and puts the CSU in a better position to mitigate challenges we continue to face across the system.

The CSU is committed to maintaining our unwavering focus on student success and academic excellence and leveraging the collective power of our 23 universities and 460,000 students to fuel the state's economy and highly educated workforce."
