The CSU has released the following statement on the California State Auditor's review of prevention of and response to sexual harassment and related misconduct in the CSU. The audit was the result of Assembly Bill 2407, which passed in 2024 and called for regular audits of the state's three public higher education systems to ensure compliance with Title IX. "The California State University (CSU) appreciates the California State Auditor (CSA) team's careful review and thoughtful analysis of our Title IX programming. We agree with the recommendations in this report and view them as an important opportunity to further strengthen our policies, practices, and support for students and campus communities.
"This audit report reflects the substantial progress the CSU and the Title IX offices across our 22 universities have made in strengthening its Title IX framework and systemwide response processes since the CSA's 2023 review. The CSU and each university have also instituted numerous recommendations associated with the Cozen O'Connor report and implemented the system's new Nondiscrimination Policy.
