'Be the Change You Want to See in the World'

​​​Dr. Redela is a life-long feminist dedicated to furthering goals of gender equality through education and leading by example. She holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Spanish Language, Literature and Culture and teaches in the Women’s Studies Department at CSU San Marcos. Her research focuses on gender roles and feminist activism, Ecofeminism, and intersectional literary analysis.  Her education and teaching experiences have afforded her the opportunity to interact with various sectors of society while her working class upbringing keeps her committed to grassroots effort. Her academic writing focus on the ways in which fiction writing offers a distinct and valuable perspective on the female multi-cultural experience. Her passion is educating and empowering her students to be agents of social change.​
