Scholarly engagement provides benefits for the university community by encouraging high curiosity levels, a deepened interest in new methodologies, faculty connection with community scholars and the testing of personal knowledge.
Dr. Penny McCullagh had her first published article in a refereed journal as a University of Wisconsin student in 1974, and she has continued to be an active Kinesiology contributor for over 40 years. Since her arrival at CSU East Bay (CSUEB) in 1999, she has been a role model for scholarship amongst the many other duties incumbent on faculty at a university such as CSUEB. She disseminates research findings through her teaching activities, and has regularly worked with students on research projects, mentoring them through the research process. Dr. McCullagh’s specialty is research into the influences of observational learning (modeling) on psychological and learning/performance aspects of motor behavior.
