December Bolden is the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff in the Office of General Counsel. She supervises the office administrator, paralegals, legal secretaries and manages the Department’s budget, serves as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor and General Counsel and the Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy General Counsel, as well as liaison to campus executives and the Board of Trustees. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel in 2011, Dr. Bolden served as the Deputy Director of Operations at Western Center on Law & Poverty, a public interest law group. She also has served on the pro bono panel as a Mediator for the Superior Courts of California, County of Los Angeles. Dr. Bolden has mediated Civil Harassment and Small Claims cases that ranged from construction defect, homeowners association disputes, restraining orders, to general harassment without restraining orders, and bad debts/collections.
