Evelyn Nazario is the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at the California State University system. As vice chancellor, Evelyn provides strategic leadership and direction for the CSU’s comprehensive human resources department (faculty and staff) and oversees collective bargaining, benefits, campus relations and dispute resolution, compensation, data research and analysis, policy development, learning and development, Title IX, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, equal opportunity and whistleblower.
Nazario joined the CSU in 2008 and served as associate vice chancellor for human resources management. In that capacity, she was responsible for the oversight of campus human resource officers and provided guidance in all HR related matters. Prior to joining the CSU, she served as Director of Compensation and HR operations for the University of California, Irvine; Director of Compensation, Benefits, HRIS & Payroll at St. Joseph Hospital; and, Benefits, Compensation & HRIS Manager at MonierLifetile. Evelyn also serves as an adjunct lecturer in the college of business at CSU Fullerton.
Nazario earned a bachelor's in psychology from Vanguard University, and a master's in organizational leadership from Brandman University. She holds professional certifications in change management, mediation, unconscious bias and cultural intelligence, and is also a certified executive coach.
