Maintenance of New Facilities

The CSU is scheduled to open 363,486 square feet of new facilities in 2026-27. The cost to fund regular maintenance of these facilities is $24.72 per square foot, for a total of $9 million in 2026-27. Regular maintenance of new facilities includes the cost of utilities, building maintenance, custodial, landscape and administrative support. An additional $10.75 per square foot (3.9 million) will support systemwide deferred maintenance needs, resulting in a combined total of $12.9 million.
