Contribution Highlights
- The Lawrence Broe Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Graduate Studies in History will be funded through the estate plan of alumnus Broe. The true significance of this gift is that it has spurred the institution to reinitiate its efforts in the area of planned giving. As a result, the university has established a new planned giving website and assigned new resources to ensure its success. Not only will this scholarship have a direct impact on the lives of those who receive it, but considerably more will benefit from the success of the university’s rejuvenated planned giving efforts.
- The Wells Fargo Foundation, a longtime supporter of programs with a high impact on individual students, gave a $25,000 grant to the Promise Scholars program, which assists former foster youth by creating a smooth transition into college and by providing support, such as special academic advising, instruction, and life skills development, throughout their entire college journey. This grant allows the program administrator to reach out and touch the lives of former foster kids significant ways.
- A Dignity Health gift to the university’s Accelerated Second Bachelor of Science in Nursing allows students aspiring to become registered nurses, but who hold a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing, to meet the prerequisites. This $100,000 gift provides the annual cohort of 30 students the dual opportunity to change their lives and to serve countless members of their communities.
