2011-2012 Philanthropic Support Report
In 2011-2012, charitable gift receipts totaled over $240 million. Gift receipts, a combination of new gifts and pledge payments, represent resources that have been received and currently invested in the CSU's students, faculty and programs. Chancellor Charles B. Reed's Tenure
Under Chancellor Charles B. Reed's fifteen year leadership, the CSU's endowment increased two hundred percent from $339 million to $1.02 billion. During his tenure, Chancellor Reed oversaw almost $3.6 billion in gift receipts to the CSU—an average of $240 million per year. After his retirement, his philanthropic legacy lives on with the Chancellor Charles B. Reed Scholarship, which endows a scholarship fund to recognize an exemplary Hearst/CSU Trustees' recipient.
