Contribution Highlights
- During summer of 2010, the Division of University Advancement entered the public phase of the Campaign for Cal Poly Pomona. In November, the University hosted at an exclusive gala event, announcing the public launch of the campaign to our donors. The gala also featured an eight minute campaign video which was developed in-house to highlight the successes and history of Cal Poly Pomona.
- The 2010-2011 year began with a $42 million gift from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. This unprecedented gift doubled the university's endowment. The donation takes the form of a challenge grant, which is a gift awarded with the understanding that the university will meet an announced fundraising goal. In this case, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has challenged Cal Poly Pomona alumni and supporters to rally behind the university's $150 million comprehensive campaign.
- The Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association, an independent 501(c)3, pledged $100,000 over three years to the campaign to be used to match gifts of first time alumni donors and to match any increase on a prior gift in the amount of 1:1 up to $1,000.
- Steve and Marian Dodge, longtime supporters of the university and patrons of modern architecture, pledged $3 million through a bequest gift to advance the study of modern architecture in the College of Environmental Design. Their bequest includes their Los Feliz home, an architecturally significant building designed by architect Raphael Soriano.
