Contribution Highlights
- The Picture Art Foundation donated a sculpture to the University Library that is valued at over $650,000.
The sculpture celebrates the diversity of CSU Dominguez Hills and the communities that surround the university.
- American Honda pledged $100,000 to create an endowment that will support the Science Opportunity Program.
This collaborative program between CSU Dominguez Hills and the California Academy of Math and Science (CAMS)
will allow for CAMS students to take classes that will accelerate their college graduation and to transfer easier
to CSU Dominguez Hills.
- The President's Scholarship Reception this year honored Dr. Eleanor Chang as the Katherine Loker Friend of
Education Award honoree and American Honda as the Corporate Partner of the Year recipient. Through the event
over $190,000 was raised to support student scholarships; less than ten percent of the proceeds were expended
on the actual event.
- In November 2010, CSU Dominguez Hills opened a Nursing Skills Lab that was supported with over $150,000 in
financial support from various individuals and corporations. The lab reaffirms the school's commitment to
bolster the state's nursing needs, and ensuring the student body is trained in state-of-the-art facilities
and standards of practice.
