Contribution Highlights
- CSU Chico continues to have strong support from private foundations with gifts totaling more than $800,000 during this reporting cycle. Among those foundations were: $250,000 from the W.M. Keck Foundation to support University and community programs, such as The Great Debate and Town Hall; $75,000 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to fund a planning process in Education; and $36,000 from the James Irvine Foundation in support of the North Sate Symphony.
- Corporate support to the University continues to grow with gifts totaling in excess of $2 million. NetApp, Inc. provided hardware and software support to the College of Business in excess of $750,000. Sirrus Technology made major contributions to Mechanical Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing in the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management.
- Construction Management received support totaling more than $350,000 for the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) Program from the CIM Patrons group, corporate entities, and private foundations. The CIM Program, one of only four in the country, continues to receive substantial support and experience remarkable growth.
- Highlighting gifts from individuals this past reporting cycle were contributions from the Valene L. Smith Trust ($535,000); the Sterling and Ann Rood Trust ($175,958);
and Marilyn Warrens' ($100,000) gift to Musical Theatre.
- The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District VII awarded CSU Chico with 11 awards during the past reporting year: four gold, five silver, and two bronze for excellence in communications and marketing programs, special program publications packages, photography, design, and special events.
